Lisha Lynn brings out Mineral Makeup Trends for this Spring
"A thing of beauty is a joy for ever: Its loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness..." -- John Keats..
Did John have a woman in mind when he was penning down the poem?
Since time immemorial, women have been obsessed with beautifying themselves. They have been adorning their skin for centuries. The Egyptians used various ground stones and quartz as make up. In the modern world, make up is a part of personality enhancement and has essentially become an everyday routine for women.
However, it is important to understand what goes into the skin so we don't abuse our healthy skin. Chemical-based makeup often carries parabens (preservatives), phthalates, petroleum products, synthetic dyes, artificial fragrances and colorants; and creates an environment where bacteria can infect the skin. In fact, your make-up may be aging your skin pre-maturely, and it is important to use anti-aging make-up that helps the healthiness of your skin.
The sans oil and perfumes make mineral make up a very attractive option. Since the process eliminates use of fragrances, binders, synthetic dyes, and preservatives -- it is considered "purer" and can be kinder to the skin. Mineral cosmetics are inorganic and do not contain moisture, preventing bacteria from growing with no need of preservatives, oils or waxes, which could affect the skin, and they are practically well tolerated by everyone in all climates. Mineral make-up will not block your pores, but it will still provide flawless coverage.
Here are some of the Mineral Makeup Trends for this Spring:
Eyes:
1. Open up
Brighten and open up your eyes by brushing lids with Lisha Lynn's collection of sheer white eye shadow called Ice followed by defining and lengthening the lashes by black mascara.
2. Bold and beautiful
Get those bold and smoky eyes by using Lisha Lynn's Mystery and Sugarplum eye shadows. The experts suggest keeping your cheeks and lips lighter while applying such strong colors.
3. Define the eyes
Use Brownie Sparkle of Lisha Lynn, a delicious brown eye shadow, to line the lash line and then gently spreading the color upwards. Use Lisha Lynn's either Autumn Brown or Dark Plum for the lower lids followed by highlighting the brow bone and inner corners with Lisha Lynn's Flirt. For those with pale complexions, try Antique for inner corners and highlighting. Curling the lashes and applying Lisha Lynn lush lash black mascara will complete the look.
Cheeks:
1. Bloom
"Peach tones are IN, one to try is Lisha Lynn Peachy Keen." Yes, sweep this blush on the apples of cheeks, forehead, chin and the bridge of nose.
For those with warmer complexions, Copper Sunset or Sun Kissed blush are beautiful.
2. Warm up the complexion
Lisha Lynn has Foundation in 19 different colors. Choose anything from Café Foundation to Latte Foundation for warming up the complexion.
Lips:
1. Pink, Peach and Plum
On lips, go on a long lasting color in pink, peach or deep plum to match the season of bloom. Finish with Lisha Lynn's clear lipgloss called Clear.
2. As for nude lips, Lisha Lynn's glosses called Pure, Desire and Jealousy that are just nude/tan for the season.
So ladies!! Now that you know how you can look beautiful while keeping your skin healthy and young, get going with mineral makeup and enjoy being a beauty!!!

Barely Blogging
Can you barely blog?? I mean, can you blog so intermittently that it's called "barely blogging?" I think so, I think maybe I should change the name of my blog!!!
I have good intentions, but you know what they say about that.............
So, what's keeping me from blogging more??? Well, not much, it's just that I have been in school full-time since January and it's eating my lunch. I am in school 9-2 or so and then pick up the kids at school around 3:15. Let me mention my Aesthetics school is 40 minutes from my house and the kids school is about half way between my school and home. So, there's alot of driving involved!
I take my oldest son to Occupational Therapy Tuesdays at 3 p.m. so I have to pick the boys up early from school that day. On Wednesdays I stay late at school, usually until 5, thanks to friends who I trade with, meaning on Fridays it's hectic with 4 kids running around after school while I try to begin a week's worth of laundry, cook something healthy for dinner, well most of the time. Let me not lie, most Fridays I cave in and order pizza, but only since I've been in school.
I was so tired the first two months of school I was in bed by 9 p.m. and sawing logs quicker than the kids!
Ah, the quest for knowledge continues!
I'm thinking nutritionist may be next on my list of to-do's!!!! :-)

Tips on blogging
You can be a better blogger.
Do visions of googlers finding your blog dance in your head???
Do you have lots to say and need a way to share your thoughts and information.
Have you recently made accomplishments with your own "secret" steps?? DO you long to share those with others???
YOU TOO can be a BLOGGER.
A few easy steps, the right focus and the right topics and you too can be Blogamous, a new word I just made up, it means Blogger FAMOUS!!!
Obviously I am still getting the hang of blogging..............
So, I've been doing my favorite thing, googling, researching ways to be a better blogger. I wanted to share this little nugget I found.

Reflecting
I was sitting in the car line outside the boys' school today. I was thinking I needed to blog! I haven't been able to come up with a) enough topics b) the time or c) the topic and the time together!
I love reflection time. My favorite time to do this is while I'm waiting in the car line because I'm by myself and there is nothing to distract me. I can't decide to go do laundry, check my email (no iphone for me!) or decide to do something else around the house or in my "lab."
I have been reading ALOT lately. I have so many things I want to know about and perfect in my life.
My current stack (literally, right here next to me) is The Out of Sync Child, The Sales Bible, Tribes, Bringing up Children without Tearing them down, The Best Life Diet, Carbohydrate Addicted Kids, Recipes for Carbo Addicted Kids, BIBLE, and The Little Green Book of Getting your way.
I think I have TOO much to think ABOUT!!! My friends have just started laughing when I say I'm reading a book on "that."
Today, it occured to me, what am I NOT reading about??? I read about health, nutrition, parenting, marriage, friendship, Christian living, and anything about cosmetics I can find!
So, that 's me and REFLECTING...
I also thought about this today about blogging: It's so funny that in college I wanted to write a column but my teacher said it needed more "something." Like it was too bland for a newspaper column. Even my reviews were only A- at best. FUNNY because THOUSANDS of people are making a LIVING writing very similiar "columns" and thoughts on the web only a few years later and I find a lot of them ALOT less interesting than myself!!! LOL
I know this is a random post but it's so typical for me to combine a bunch of stuff and relate it all together. That's just me.

Complacent
I cannot stand complacency.
I gave an informational lecture to a class the other day about the safety of personal care products. They all stared back at me without an ounce of interest in their faces.
No one had any questions. No one laughed at my jokes. I tried to not let it bother me. BUT, it did. Why were these girls or women looking at me with such empty stares??
I came home and thought about it.
I figured it out...................they were complacent.
They were not happy to be where they were, at least not that day. They weren't excited about what they were doing there. They were going through the motions of another day and I just happened to show up in their lives this particular day.
How sad is that?? They should have been interested in what I had to say. Not just because I'm AWESOME, but because it pertains to the field of the career they have chosen. They should be interested in anything that gives their education more VALUE.
Complacency will not get you anywhere.
Let me say that again. Complacency will get you NOWHERE. As I told these ladies, you have to take the circumstances in your life and manipulate them for motivation. If you don't, you will be complacent. And while that may work for today, at the end of your life, you'll wish you had DONE something. Take what frustrates you, whether it is a person, a product, a company or whatever and DO something with that. Become a person of action. Do what creates meaning for you.

Finding Value
Right now everyone seems to be looking for value in everything from the things we buy to the actions we repeat everyday. We want meaning, we want value.
We are asking: What value do we feel we have in our lives?
When it seems the bottom is falling out or the *stuff* is hitting the fan, we re-evaluate the choices we make. Now we realize what we had been focusing on may not have been the most important............
Wake up calls like the one our country is in are usually somewhat short-lived - think 9/11. But, if we use the wake up call wisely we can put more VALUE back into our lives.
RE-EVALUATE
MAKE CHANGES
FOCUS on being VALUABLE to others
FOCUS on having VALUE in your own life
FOCUS on finding VALUE in everything
